Reader's Library

Terms of Use

Last updated: June 16, 2026

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the Reader's Library app and the readerslibrary.app website (together, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

Reader's Library is distributed through the Apple App Store. Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA) also applies to your use of the app. Where these Terms and Apple's standard EULA conflict, the standard EULA governs your license to the app itself.

License

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app on Apple devices you own or control, for your personal, non-commercial use, subject to these Terms and the App Store Terms of Service.

Your content

You own the content you create in the app — your books, reviews, notes, quotes, and the like. The app stores this on your device and in your private iCloud; we don't claim ownership of it.

When you use the sharing feature to create a public link or card, you grant us a limited license to host and display that specific shared content so the link works. You're responsible for what you choose to share, and you confirm you have the right to share it.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to:

We may remove shared content or restrict access to the Service if it is misused. To report a shared link, email [email protected].

Third-party data

Book details and cover images are provided by Open Library and other sources. We don't guarantee their accuracy or availability, and they are subject to their own terms.

Purchases

The app may offer optional in-app tips, processed by Apple. Tips are voluntary, unlock no features, and are generally non-refundable except as required by Apple's policies or applicable law.

Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that your data will never be lost. Keep your own backups (for example, via iCloud and Apple's backups).

Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL THE DEVELOPER OF READER'S LIBRARY BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim or USD $20. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.

Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be posted at this URL with an updated date. Continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the revised Terms.
